His inspiration for the newly added parts on OXYGENE 3 was not to go back in time, but to add a sense of "now" to his iconic piece of work. Plunging into the environment of OXYGENE with its highly original dark, moody and at times quite upbeat musical language, Jarre references some of the music from his entire body of work on OXYGENE 3. It s a state-of-the-art recording, embracing both classic and modern ways of music production.

No need to review the music, if you're thinking of spending nearly $200 on this, you love it.I am taking off a star for physical reasons: 1: There is black stuff on the first vinyl disc. I saw another review saying the same, so thoroughly check everything when you open it. 2: This is a bit difficult because the packaging is so tight. It takes a lot of effort to put back together. 3: It is especially difficult to get the 7-13 vinyl in and out due to placement. 4: The CD's slide in cardboard pockets, I don't want to scratch them so I will have to store them in jewel boxes.

    An essential piece of electronic music, and this is a very cool way to experience it. This box set is presented in high quality materials, with three components: Analog, Digital, and Print. The Analog portion contains the three albums in heavyweight clear vinyl, the Digital portion contains the three albums on CD, and then Print is a pretty substantial book showing all the equipment Jarre used to create each album.

    As for the music, you get three outstanding albums comprising the Oxygene Trilogy. The first set came out in 1976 and is Jarre's breakthrough album that catapulted him into electronica royalty. Oxygene 2 (originally titled Oxygene 7-13) was released in 1997 and features seven tracks that truly sound like an evolution of the first album. Finally, Oxygene 3 was released in 2016 and concludes the trilogy. This third one is the weakest of the three, but still features a couple of standout tracks. The vinyl versions sound really great, too. The only complaint I have is that Oxygene 2 abruptly stops at the end of side A and abruptly starts on side B. This album released when vinyl wasn't popular, so it never got an original pressing. Clearly they hastily put it on wax. However, that album is so good that it's easy to overlook this.

    Highly recommended if you're a JMJ fan.

    La continuacion de aquel Oxigeno , presentado en 1976, al que vino la 2a parte en 1997 y concluye (supongo) en 2016 con esta 3a parte, Jean Michel Jarre presenta su trabajo de una manera, a mi modo de ver excepcional en esta caja que contiene 3Lps , 3 cds , un poster y un libro con fotografias que el mismo toma, de los instrumentos y medios de grabacion que utilizo para crear estas 3 suites que llevan por nombre Oxygene, en cierto modo es una edicion para fans de hueso colorado pero se agradece
